Women’s Sailing Convention!

The Boat Owners Association of the U.S. reported today that the Southern California Yachting Association’s 23rd Annual Women’s Sailing Convention will be held Feb. 4 at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Corona del Mar, Calif.

The convention will feature a series of workshops, both on- and off-water, for women sailors of all experience levels. Some of the convention’s workshops include: Welcome Aboard (for beginners); Diesels; Hints & Hazards of World Wide Cruising; Pirates and the Cruising Sailor; Dinghy Do’s and Don’ts; and Basic Navigation. A full list of workshop topics, and a registration form, can be found on the SYCA Women’s Sailing Convention website.

“This event gives women an opportunity to meet many other women sailors, find out about existing women’s sailing organizations in their area, instructional programs available, and many other areas of interest for those who would like to do more – racing, cruising and every day sailing,” said event organizer Gail Hine in a press release.
